Kevin Spealman, Vice President & General Manager

Kevin has been the General Manager of National Claims Services since its inception in 1991. In addition, Kevin is the Vice President of Claims and Customer Service for National Forwarding Co., Inc.  He has been an industry leader for military claims issues since the 1980s, and has participated in Military/Industry Symposiums (MIS) for over 20 years.  He holds a bachelor's degree in education from Illinois State University and a master's degree in management from National-Louis University.

Kevin has been an outspoken advocate for industry for more than two decades. He served and chaired the claims committees of the American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA) and International Association of Movers (IAM) for many years.  He has taught numerous military claims workshops for AMSA's Regional Seminar program.  In addition he has served on many industry committees, writing and advising on:

  • The development of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs)
  • The composition of 400NG Tariff
  • Defense Personal Property System (DPS) Claims Module corrections
  • Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) Mold and Mildew Working Group
  • Claims section of the Phase III Business Rules for the Department of Defense (DOD) Personal Property Program

Kevin's experience gives National Claims Services an unmatched perspective of the current applicable regulations and how they came about.  He has seen the impact of DOHA Decisions throughout the years, and recognizes how the interpretation of issues has evolved over time.

Pam Johnson, Claims Manager

Pam started working in the moving industry in 1978, where she worked with over the road drivers that were involved in motor vehicle accidents at Allied.  She left Allied in 1983, to concentrate on her family and in 1996,  Pam returned to the moving industry as a part time claims assistant at National Claims Services.  Her part time position only lasted a few months as she was asked to come on board full time to set up inspections for the claims adjusters.  After several years she was asked to become a claims adjuster and in 2005, she was promoted to the position of Claims Manager.  Pam is an active participant in the Claims Prevention and Procedure Council (CPPC), and attends the yearly conventions in April and October.  The conventions and workshops that CPPC holds give Pam a great opportunity to meet new repair firms as well as speak with many existing repair firms NCS uses today.  In addition, Pam has spoken on military claims panels at CPPC events educating others on military claims procedures.  Pam's attention to detail and knowledge on the business rules are a true asset to NCS and NCS clients.
